Website Design and Implementation (HTML, CSS, Bootstrap)
Ryan Calloway Art
Design a fresh new website to showcase the art of local artist, Ryan Calloway. Ryan Calloway Art is the official portfolio site for Ryan Calloway's digital and traditional art. As a professional in the visual arts field, Ryan's goals were to showcase his work in a way that is both clean and creative. After researching a cross section of similar artists in his profession, we aligned that the site should have a multi-page structure with links to his blog and Etsy store.
The process for Ryan's site design included competitive research, a comprehensive review of all forms of media he wanted to include on his site, refining his target audience, and developing visual design objectives through mood boarding and exploring typographics/color treatment. To construct the site, I used Bootstrap.
Aesthetically, we wanted the site to feel clean and fresh so we chose a combination of whites and greys for backgrounds and navigation bars. What we found in our design research was that most artists who work in Visual Effects have dark, heavy feeling sites. We felt that showcasing the work in a way that felt more like a gallery than a theater would enable us to feature a broader array of work in a pleasing way.
